PhysioPlus Fitness

PhysioPlus Fitness is run by Ebony Hornibrook who is a certified fitness instructor and one of our physiotherapists at PhysioPlus.

PhysioPlus Fitness is run at Radley Park in Woolston and, while a group programme, each participant is individually assessed and appropriate exercises are prescribed for the session.

The programme runs for one hour, once a week.  It involves a large variety of fitness activities that aim to give the whole body a work out and address general deconditioning and any specific musculoskeletal conditions that participants might have.  The programme involves individual and group work such as circuit training, ball games, obstacle course and training walks/runs.

Clients can be referred to the programme by their general practitioner via a written or verbal referral. Clients can also self-refer, and we welcome anyone who is interested in the programme to come down to Radley Park at 9.30am on a Friday to try it out!  The cost for each session is $10.00.

“Like many people I had suffered an injury, went to physiotherapy and was given my strengthening exercises to do – yeah right!!  Ebony suggested that I might benefit from an exercise class that she took for clients recovering from an injury on a Friday morning.  Well – what a discovery!  It’s been great.  All exercises are graded/changed for all levels and abilities.  It’s up to me just how much or hard I push myself.  I set my own little challenges to the times or particular exercise.  I don’t have to look smart – it’s down to earth and not intimidating, it’s not like a gym at all.  I’m not committed to going every week or day – if I can’t make it, that’s fine – though I do miss not having worked out!  I learn, practice and improve every week I go and all exercises take into consideration any injury you may have and fitness level.  You are helped at every stage and advised on what is best or not for your injury.  Ebony and Abi work like personal trainers and make you feel very able and great about what you’ve achieved.  I’ve enjoyed it so much, my basketball has improved, I’ve got my 72 year old mum to join me, another mum from school and my dad’s even considering getting off the couch to try it out.  It’s worth giving it a go- it’s simple, straightforward exercise with support and motivation from PhysioPlus.”… Maria
